Should this part be 3d sketched?

The attached part worked to get me the geometry I needed to work out a multi-part design But now I would like to clean it up to be realistic. Should this be started as a 3D sketch  and use a sweep or pipe? I guess what would be the best way to do this type of part?

Thanks!

Depends.

The sketches you have will work for Sweep and Pipe (Pipe is a Sweep with limitations, but easier to use)

Sketch 5 is not connected to sketch 2, so a continuous Sweep / Pipe breaks at this intersection.

Not sure why there is a break, and one would think sketch 5 would precede Sketch 4, would help avoid the error.

Ok, the broken path can be fixed, Edit Feature for Plane 4, and use offset to object, select the end point of Sketch 2 line.

As a single Sweep / Pipe, the corners will be mitered.  So, no you don't need a 3d sketch to get there.

Might help...
