Why can't I constrain my text?

Hello, if someone could have a look at the 'Top 1' sketch and tell me why my text isn't constraining that would be much appreciated. I am trying to fully constrain the sketch.

Thank you in advance.

In Fusion 360, text in a sketch cannot be constrained directly like other geometry, but you can control its position indirectly:

  1. Anchor Point: The text box has a point (bottom-left corner) that can be constrained using coincident, horizontal, or vertical constraints to other geometry.

  2. Dimensions: Use dimensions to control the distance from the text's anchor point to other sketch elements.

  3. Fix/Unfix: Right-click the text and select Fix/Unfix to lock its position in place.

The text itself (font, size, etc.) isn't treated as fully constrainable geometry, so focus on anchoring its location.

unless you were to explode the text of course which would make it into lines that you could constrain fully.

Wishing you a very happy new year

There are a large number of overlapping lines between the text fields as well as between the text fields and projected geometries (magenta).
You now have to make sure that every single one of them is defined, but in my view this is a tiresome task.

Personally Now that I've seen the file, your probably better of just exploding the numbers if you want to constrain them.

@ColdCondenser - while fully constraining a sketch, in general, is a good practice, it is not a goal in itself.  It is good to remember that fully constraining a sketch is helpful, mainly, when editing via parameters/dimensions/etc.  IMO, it is not necessary to fully constrain every sketch, especially for hard-to-constrain items like text or fit point splines.

(also:  the text is on the "Top 2" sketch, for others who are interested)

I think your sketch has a degeneration in it.  if you delete all the text boxes, there is still a green point that is a part of the sketch but can't be deleted.  this may be preventing the sketch from registering as fully constrained.

doesn't that just mean the file is corrupted, what's the need to call the "big people"

just trying to learn...

New year Regards

Calling the 'big people' helps to get bugs fixed instead of ignored.

What I'm trying to say is how is the degeneration (the green dot) a bug?

How is it not a bug?

Forget I asked. My english won't english for no reason at all. You're just making me question whether I can even ask questions in english

Thank you for the replies everyone. I will have a play around with these suggestions. Is the green dot a bug? I can't remove it at all.

I think it's a bug.  seems to be related to manipulating text boxes.

(it's doesn't seem to be related to having a fixed constraint applied, as was the case in the other thread you were looking at here-

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-design-validate-document/green-dot-won-t-allow-me-to-move-line...)
