Hello everyone in this forum.
This is a part of my favorite toy - HGUC GM from Bandai model. I had to modeling and 3d printing because the head part were missing and I always wanted to learn Fusion 360 so I tried it. I know how to use Alias a little, Rhino and Sketchup(my favorite, but has limit for sure). Alias is great surface oriented modeling tool but still has limit and I thought Fusion 360 might be easier to use and more convenient for its look. So I tried and modeled this part.
Here is my question. If you look at the model, it has circular thing on both side and because the head's basic form is not even, it was difficult to put it there. What I did was combine the sphere and head after I sculpted the head using Form. I had to constantly go back and forth the form editing to make that circle looks like a circle. I was thinking that there must be a simpler, proper way to model this kind of situation. So is there a solution? or is there other software that can easily and precisely model in this situation? I heard that Bandai uses UG and Catia but I don't know how to use that tool. Will they performs better in this situation?
