setting or moving a line so that the center of a line is at the origin

My design intent is for the two ends of a line be an equal distance from the origin. once I draw my first line, I am unable to move that line to the origin by grabbing the center of the line. Yes, I can create a parameter and divide by two and draw two lines in opposite directions, but that means there are two lines not one. And my intent is that the end points of a single line be at the origin.

Everything that works and maintains a fully defined sketch feels to me like it is a work-around to my intent.

Suggestions welcome.

Use the Midpoint constraint between the line and the Origin.

Thank you. Easy, straightforward, and the exact result that I wanted.

I suggest that you Attach your design here.  If you have missed Midpoint constraint through 3 years of Fusion use there are likely other tips the experts here can give you that you might have missed.

I appreciate what you're saying about attaching a file and I'd be happy to do that. I've been dormant for most of the time since I first joined this forum. So I'm just now getting back into the swing of things. And in this particular exercise it was the very first line I was drawing to begin the sketch so there wasn't much to show. I will attach the file as it exists today and I will gladly consider all suggestions regarding the progress I've made which is very small. Right now I'm using this particular part as an exercise in the discipline of creating fully constrained sketches. And I'm getting there slowly by thinking of each and every line as to what my intent is. It's starting to sink in.

As you can see from this model, I'm not very far along on the design. The one thing I have finally grasped is the creation of components and the naming of everything. I'm also getting better at managing the timeline and using it to my advantage.

You might also note that I seem to be replying to your message from a different account. I recently lost all my accounts and passwords on my computer but apparently my browser remembered some of these accounts that I didn't know about. I'll try to regain some mastery over which account I'm actually using. Thank you for your patience

@John_C_Hansen

You could have had Fusion automatically constrain symmetrical to the Origin by using the

Center Point Slot tool.

Hi,

1. delete double lines

2. add midpoint and horizontal constraint

Thank you. The center point slot works very well for the parameters that are already defined for this design.

Yes, I see how well that method works quite elegantly.
