Recent update broke send to 3D Printer

Hi! I updated to Fusion 2.0.20256 arm64 [Native] (macOS 14.6.1 (23G93) on MacBookPro18,4) a few days ago and the feature for 3D Print to application (Cura/PrusaSlicer) is now failing to correctly send to these applications. In this last update, this feature menu was changed to have an update so you select Preparation Type (Print Utility, Export, etc) which changes the settings. Change makes sense but it's not working correctly.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Load model in Fusion.
  2. Select 3D Print from File menu
  3. Select Preparation Type: Print Utility
  4. Click on the model body you want to print
  5. Select Application: PrusaSlicer (or Cura)
  6. Click 'OK'

Expected behavior:

Model should be loaded into the selected slicer application.

Actual behavior:

Slicer application is foregrounded but no model is loaded.

Testing with PrusaSlicer 2.8.1 (latest) and Cura 5.8.1 (latest). Both worked on previous version of Fusion 360 (1 week ago). I also tried different formats (STL, OBJ, 3FM) and using Custom application with Cura or PrusaSlicer found locally on computer which I've seen working previously as well. Successful workaround is to do export, set filenames, and then import the STL/OBJ/3FM into slicer.

Examples screenshots attached of right before clicking OK and in PrusaSlicer after.

I am using Windows.  Try to reassign the 3D Print utility you are using.  Select the Application as Custom and then browse for the Windows shortcut to the Slicer application, in my case UltiMarker Cura.  Works like a charm for me.

Hi John,
as I have seen from the numerous posts, this “error” only occurs on the Mac.
There is a ticket  > #4 by @seth.madore  for this problem.
