Problem Creating Profiles from Sketch Curves

 I seem to be having this problem frequently however it is very incosistent when it appears...

I created a sketch by tracing a bitmap using the spline tool.  One part of the sketch needs to be a straight line.  I have never been able to create a straight line by using the spline tool so I terminated the continuous spline and used the line tool instead.  I am continuing the line on the point where the spline leaves off.  When I select my first line segment point I get the green box on the last point on the spline and a green box on the last line point on the starting spline point.  My sketch curve should now be a complete profile but it is still open for some reason.  I zoomed in to the max and there are no open points.  As a result it is not selectable as a profie and cannot be extruded.  There seems to be no way to close the curve to create a profile. I have ran into this exact same problem on several other sketchs.

This should definitely work.  Can you share the design with us, so that we can take a look?

Thanks,

@TOwens777,

Welcome back to the Fusion 360 forum.

The way that I usually avoid that issue is to draw the spline and then draw the line short of the end points.

I will then drag the ends of the strait line to the end of the spline until it snaps to the end of the spline.

Please try this and let me know if it does not help you resolve this.

On a side note: I believe that our development team is working to make this more robust.

Thank you for using Fusion 360.

Bob, thanks for the respone.  I  tried that.  I turned on snap to and extended the line.  The green box was there and it snapped right to the point on the spine on both ends.

Still doesn't work however.  Same problem.  How do I share the design?

@TOwens777,

I am sorry to see that you are still having an issue.

Here is a link on how to share a public link:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-differently/share-a-public-link-of-your-fusion-360-design/ba-p/...

You can also export an F3D file of your sketch and post it:

Thank you.

Thanks Bob,  I ran into the same problem today with other sketch curves.  I sent a PM with the share link.
