Physical properties out by a third?

Hi

I have assigned mdf to a model and the properties say its weighs just over nine kilos but I have wieghed an actual board and it is on 5 kg.

Why such a big margin of error ?

I understand different manufacturers would mean there would be variations in density but not by nearly 2 times ?

Many thanks.

ps same happened with a box steel section test i did.

I've done thins before on an assembly with 400 components including Plywood and Gatorboard and the overall weight was pretty accurate.
I'd have to say that I measured the densities of these materials myself and used that for the properties dialogue.

Could you share your model so we can take a look at it ?
