Patterned items in sketch no longer extrudable?

Not sure if this is related to the changes to the personal license but I have just drawn a sketch, patterned some circles, saved the sketch and then went to extrude all of the circles but it will only allow me to select the first circle.

Is this a new "feature" or yet more reduction in functionality for the hobbyist, (Like "edit in place", now you see it, now you don't)

I do not think so.  Please attach your model so the forum users can troubleshoot it for you.

nothing in this area was changed related to the Personal license.  Check whether you have profiles turned on:

and, as @jhackney1972 asked, share the design here.  Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply John. I have never attached a model before so hopefully I have done it correctly

Yes "Show Profile" is checked. I can see them in the extrude command, just can't select them.

When you patterned the hole, you select the center point "only" for your pattern.  Go back and edit the pattern and select the circle also.  I would recommend only Extruding one hole and pattern in the model instead.  Much more efficient.

I only see one circle in that sketch.  It looks like somehow only the center points were patterned.

I was able to create a new pattern, and all the circles seemed OK:

You have another problem which is preventing you from creating the extruded holes.  The bodies are only surfaces in your model.  This will give your issues.  Is there a reason you are using surfaces?

Attached is your model, by a different name, which I have stitched the walls of the canister together to make a solid and then extruded one hole through the wall.  Then I used a model Rectangular pattern to add the rest of the holes.  The rest of the model remains as surfaces.  I just wanted to show the efficiency of using model patterning as opposed to sketch patterns.

John/Jeff,

Thanks for your help, it really is appreciated, that was a proper newbie error on my part, given I have been using Fusion for years I should have been able to sort it. I think all the angst going around about the recent changes to the hobbyist license I was too quick to think that was the problem.

With regard to the actual model it was an import of a .stp model from a supplier.

I have never used surfaces so I do not understand what you have done and why they should cause a problem.

What I wanted to do is then pattern the holes all around the body so that it actually looks like a strainer. I have downloaded your model John and have patterned the top hole around the body but I can't select the patterned extrusions of the other holes. Is this another function of the "Surfaces" issue?

I have included the model so you can see what I mean.

Hi,

in such cases I prefer the Pattern Type "Features" instead of "Faces".
