Hello,

I'm not sure what is exactly your situation. I prepared a short video with examples of how to delete a component or body.

In modeling when using body, it's not possible to delete only one side of body. You can delete certain parts of body, but the result must be again solid body.

regards

Martin

Hi stewartryrie,

A quick question for you:  Are you trying to delete an entire Fusion design from the data panel or A360, or deleting objects from within the Fusion modeling application.  If it is the latter, what types of objects were you deleting, and what error message, if any, did you get when you deleted the object(s)?

To clarify Martin's response:  You can, actually, delete some faces from a body, from the Patch workspace:  http://autode.sk/1zyZKNL

However, and this is just a guess, were you trying to delete an entire body by selecting all of its faces?  This is a common problem in Fusion.  It really has to do with the type of objects selected.  You can delete faces, (for instance, you can delete a hole by selecting all of its faces).  But, if you select all of the faces of an entire body and delete, Fusion will try to delete the faces one at a time, and this doesn't work.  If you want to delete the entire body, the best approach is to select the body in the browser and delete from there.

Sorry, no, I don't have access to your model.  Can you post it here, or share it with me?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hello,

It was right mouse click at component item (selected in browser)

Does it make sense? Do you mean something else?

I have had problems deleting sketch elements since day one. Why can't I delete a rectangle after drawing it?

Does anyone understand why this is not possible?

Here's my work flow in Fusion 360...(approximately 10 minutes)

1) draw rectangle

2) delete rectangle, but it fails, try again and again

3) try again until I eventually close Fusion and use a better CAD program

4) post here because it doesn't work hoping someone can explain how to delete a rectangle

And here's my work flow in Rhino...(approximately 10 SECONDS)

1) draw rectangle

2) delete rectangle

When you say "rectangle", do you mean a sketch rectangle, like this:

rectangle 1.png

Or a 3D solid block, like this:

rectangle 2.png

Either should work OK, but they are different operations.  Would it be possible to post a screencast or video of your workflow in this case?

Thanks,

I am a beginner at Fusion and I just had the same problem of not being able to delete a very basic geometry I had created. I found out that the reason I could not delete was I was still in sketch mode. I think this is something only a beginner could do so for all you beginners out there I hope this helps!
