New sketch color scheme :-((

Hello,

could anybody explain please the sence of making visibility worse? Now it´s nearly impossible to distinguish sketch profiles among bodies (do you see them in the screenshot?), and the difference between projected lines and body faces is very poor too.

NSCS 1.jpg

The change to the new function icons some time ago was rather negative too, the old icons were easier to distinguish in the timeline. Why was all this done???

How can I switch back to the old sketch color scheme? Couldn´t find any setting...

Thanks

Kristian

I am all 3 of those things:  old, programmer, bad eyesight.  You forgot one attribute:  Uses an environment other than Photo Booth.

I used to use Dark Sky, but I bowed to the will of the Photo Booth enthusiasts, so I didn't see this.  That is also why I didn't notice that the larger range of component color cycling colors is only available in Photo Booth 😞.  I've notified the sketch team on this one, hopefully they can comment, and hopefully address this.  I'm sure there is an XML file somewhere that has this in it, should you want to tweak it on your own, but that has always seemed like too much effort for me.

@jeff_strater -as long as your passing things on to developers (this ones in photo booth)-

And if you're going for an overall color pallet, please don't forget a full dark mode (not only one canvas).

@laughingcreek - I can't reproduce that photo booth problem.  Those are construction lines, right, or CV curve polygon lines (same thing internally)?  How did you get them to totally disappear?  Yeah, that's a problem all right, if we can reproduce it.

This doesn't happen for regular construction lines. This happens for fully
constrained control line for the CV spline.

weird.  I don't see that.  Here is what I think is a fully defined CV spline in Photo Booth:

Now, Dark Sky definitely has a problem:

You guys should quite letting Chad upload his work into the "for release" folder without it being double checked.

Jeff- I don't know what conditions causes this to happen.  I thought it was just having the sketch be fully constrained, but apparently it's not just that.  I managed to reproduce it, but the order that constraints and or dims are applied  seems to makes a difference.  in this example, the last dim I applied was the vertical 22mm one, at which point the control frame turned white. see attached and below pic.

Hi Gentlemen,

I like wandering in the forest particularly in the autumn season with a plethora of soft colors, but in CAD systems hard color contrasts are desired. Reading this thread and many others, it seems that ADSK.CORE member(s) also longs for natural colors.

Going to the point. There is logical function XOR which for well over 50 years has been utilised on pixel's graphics to optimise color(s) contrast(s).

Perhaps, it could be worthwhile to look at its potential.

Regards

@jeff_strater - just in case it got lost in the shuffle, check post 11.  Some kind of bug.

thanks, @laughingcreek .  Created FUS-58465 for this.  Strange thing is, the control polygon is there, it is just drawn in white.  You can see if you look closely that the lines are there, they are just drawn in white:

this is more obvious if you switch to a darker environment:

Screen Shot 2019-12-20 at 9.24.03 AM.png

also, if you add any new geometry, those lines are updated correctly:

Anyway, we'll let the sketch team take a look at it.

Please don´t forget about the primary topic in message #1:
The new sketch color scheme is really bad, and the 2px wide lines as well.

If you insist on this scheme, please add a preference setting for alternative use of the old scheme!

Seconded! I find the sketch color options in all existing environments to be less visible than the old color scheme in Photo Booth.

Please add an option to adjust sketch colors, or at least the ability to toggle back to the old scheme.

I've been away from Fusion for a few weeks and this was an unpleasant surprise on my return.

I use photo booth environment, and have young eyes.  This new color scheme is terrible for productivity.  Modifying sketches while bodies are visible has become a chore.  I'm being forced to alter my workflow for an "aesthetic" update.

Is anyone working on an option to revert to a useful color scheme?

@jeff_strater

This change has been around for months now, is there any action expected on it? I find it very strange that the sketch colors were altered to be clearly less visible.

Using the default body appearance in Photo Booth there isn't much contrast with unconstrained sketches or projected lines:

smithbrian3_0-1590673252114.png

In component color cycling, some configurations make the sketches essentially invisible:

smithbrian3_1-1590673459480.png

In one of your earlier posts you mentioned there may be a way to adjust sketch colors with an XML file, if that is possible can you please detail how I can do that?

I'd also appreciate this getting brought up with the sketch team again. Even if reverting the sketch colors isn't going to happen, adding an option like "High Visibility Sketches" which switches to higher contrast colors or thicker lines would be useful.

Thanks.
