Moving and rotating body (with sketches)

Hi all, I have a comiponent that was built up and extruded from sketches. I'd like to rotate it 15 degrees and also align a center point on it with the origin.

However, when I rotate it, the sketches don't seem to go as well. I've tried selecting everything, but then I get an error about "can't move root component. Do I need to create a component under the "root component"?

Ok, so I tried to do that, and it won't let me move more than one sketch into the new component. Tried restarting Fusion, still no bueno.

Frustrating.

How can I get it to just rotate *everything* in the model space?

Thanks for the post.  The short answer is "yes, if you want to move the body and the sketch with it, you have to have the sketch be owned by the component as well"

So, you would create an empty component, and "activate" it:

activate comp 3.png

An activated component then owns whatever is created while it is active.  So, any sketch created will go into that component.  Then, later, when you move that component, the sketch will go with it.

Well, that much I understood.

The real problem is that I created everything on the "root component" I guess. So my real question was, why can't I move all of the sketches to the newly created component? It let me move one body and one sketch, but no more.

What up with dat?

This is something that we continue to work on.  The problem is that sometimes you create dependencies on sketches that prevent the reorder surgery that is needed to move a sketch underneath a component.  We can and will make this better, but there will always be cases where we cannot allow that restructure operation.  We understand that it is desirable to allow this, and we will work on handling more cases.

Hello

Mr. @jeff_strater

any updates about the solution please, as I face the same problem...how can we rotate everything including the sketches if it's not a component from the beginning!
