More bugs and more time wasted

So now I can't even associate drawings to center points of lines. This is another very frustrating step backwards.
Devs say they are putting a huge focus on drawings due to demand but it looks to me like it's not a priority at all.
We have simulation before half capable drawing or sketch capabilities? Are you kidding?

Dimensioning just to points just isn't a smart solution. Eliminating the ability to select center points is rediculous.
In sketches we can dimension to lines. Why isn't it the same in drawings? You guys still haven't addressed this issue and it has been brought up many times for a long time.
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-ideastation-request-a/aligned-dimension-doesn-t-work-right/...

If you can't be bothered to impliment GD&T as promised a long time ago at least impliment basic dimensioning that works properly.

Next big issue today. Creating tangency between an arc and a line. Not only is it possible for the tangency to invert but today out of 100 tries it probably inverted 95 times. Some times after a constraint had already been placed that prevents you from moving it back to how it's supposed to be. An example is if you are trying to make a slot. Instead it will give you something like the attached image.
Now it's frustrating enough when it inverts the tangent sometimes but when it does it almost every time it is just too much.

I have also lost a good bit of time today on a file that says it can't be moved because it is in use.
I opened and closed the file a number of times and even restarted F360 and it still said it was in use.
About an hour later it finally was able to be moved.

Another thing that is very frustrating is the file system. At this moment most notably the fact that when you navigate to a sub folder, open a file and try to do a save as it saves to the last folder you saved to. It should try to save to the current folder you are in.

yes that a pita I found that yesterday Keeped forgetting to change where it is to save to then had to go find the drawing and move it. I was working in the folder where it was to go it was just a save as in the same folder but it when else where.

could the save function default to where you are not where you where

Thanks for your patience. You should have a better time with drawings come November.

As for your tangent arc to line problem. I don't find this to be an issue. Is it possible your workflow allows for more flipping? I think so. Is there any way you could make a Screencast so I can see the order of your clicks?

Just FYI, there is a Slot tool in Sketch in case that helps.

Slot_tool.png

And last the in use condition: There may have been network problems that caused that, but another thing you could try is saving the file again. Please let us know if it continues to happen.

Same with drawings. If I create a drawing and try to save it then it should default to saving in the folder the part is in.
This is common sense stuff. It is how every other file system works. You get so trained into expecting this you don't even think to check the file location.
You open a file in x folder and save as or create a file based off ot it (like a drawing) it saves in that folder. Not some other folder you saved into an hour ago.

It shouldn't matter. If I create an arc, link it to a line and give it a tangent constraint it should not flip. Not ever. Not for any reason. And especially not every time.
Why would the order of my clicks have anything to do with it anyway?

Thanks for the info on the slot tool but honestly I would way rather time be spent on other things. I will try to remember to use it but it seems amazing to me with all that massively sucks about the sketch feature that this could have come up as a priority. Make it easy to create a slot in seconds. That seems way more productive than a special tool because it will also be useful for creating every other shape.

@Phil.E that is something that needs fixed @yoshimitsuspeed last post it is a real pita to have to rember to change where to save this happen`s all the time it defults to last save postion not where you are it needs to defult to where you are if you need to move it somewhere else that`s not a problem.

I apologize @yoshimitsuspeed, perhaps you misunderstand me. I'm not blaming you or your workflow, I'm trying to understand and help you.

A quick video demonstration of the arc flipping would go a long way to me understanding the way you get this result. My responsibility at this point would be to log the bug, and strive to get it fixed. Using your words, your videos and your clicks is the best way to ensure it actually gets fixed. I hope that's clear.

Thanks again,

We have been getting promises like that as long as I have been here. Granted micro improvements come here or there but oftentimes along with something else getting messed up along the way. Like not being able to select centerpoints.
Failure to deliver creates a lack of trust on future promises.

Sure
$80/hr. I can add the time to the invoice I am building for all the time I loose using F360.
I could probably schedule to do this early next week if you want. Slammed till then.

Yes, please schedule it for early next week. We want it!

If the "flipping" is that repeatable then it should take less than 10 minutes including recording, uploading, converting and posting.

And get the bug fixed ASAP, I find repeatable bugs issue is fixed much faster if the Fusion team is able to replicate it each time, so a screencast when such issue happens helps a lot.

@kb9ydn

Thanks for providing the video. The issue has been reported now. Would you like me to post a video about how to avoid this and work with these shapes more effectively?

Not applicable

I would think that If the direction vector of a line or curve at the point of coincidence with aother line is more that 90 degrees, the tangent should always default to honour that forward direction. Hard to explain in words but hopefully obvious in a picture:
