SLDPRT Import

I have uploaded a SLDASM file along with the required SLDPRT files which have been supplied to me by the vendor. After about 20 minutes of processing it comes back and tells me there was an error but gives me no other information to help diagnose. Any suggestions as to how I may throubleshoot?

Hi @jorsborn,

Are you uploading these parts in Fusion or on your A360 account? In addition to that question, does the upload fail for both Fusion and A360? Also, can you share the .sldpart and .sldasm file with me so that I can try to upload it? My email is james.youmatz@autodesk.com. This way we can diagnose if it is particular to those files or to your machine. This should be a good start for now, and we can troubleshoot more after that.

Thanks,

Thanks for the response! I have been doing the upload through A360 and didn't know there might be a difference. I'll give it a shot in Fusion. I have also e-mailed you the models as provided by the vendor.

@James.Youmatz it works fine when uploaded through Fusion. My only complaint is that it seems to have lost the colors of each component.

Hi @jorsborn,

Glad to hear it worked! Unfortunately, I can't really troubleshoot why A360 isn't working as far as uploading the file goes 😞 To address the component coloring - one thing you can do is go into Inspect in the toolbar and choose "Component Color Cycling Toggle."

Let me know if this worked for you or if you have anymore questions!

Thanks,

Hello, I hope you are well. I'm requesting help please. I've tried uploading a sldprt file from grabcad to the data hub on Fusion 360 and also to A360 but every time I try to open it in Fusion it opens A360 and doesn't open in the design window. And then I try to download or open from A360 ir says to unpload the file in Fusion.

Thank you for your help.

Do you have a paid or startup version?  I don't think yo can open SLDPRT files with the hobbyist version any more.

Hi,

here are the conditions.

Try to convert the file.

Hi, I have the personal use version. Thank you! It's too bad they dont have
an error message explaining that. I would not have minded (it's free how
can I complain) but I spent hours trying to troubleshoot.

Take care

For future reference - most Fusion issues can be solved here within minutes.
