Modeling help, Extrude face

Hi all!

Came to a stop in my current personal learning project.
I need to extrude a face a few cm out from the body and then do a 90 degree turn following the body backwards. You'll see what I mean on the attached picture. The Model I'm working with are shown from below here.

I've built this in the Sculpt mode, is it time to leave the sculpt mode and go into the model mode? I've tested to go into model mode, slice the model with a rectangle, use press pull but I'm not sure that's the way I should go? And I loose the symmetry if I leave the sculpt mode 😄

Its really weird... I've been sitting with this for an hour or so, and 5 min after I've posted this, I suddenly figured out a way...

What I did was that I switched over to the box display mode and I ALT+Moved the face, rotated it just a bit, ALT+Moved it again, and a third time.
I've tried this in the Smooth display mode but I didn't really managed to get the look I wanted. Not  sure why though.. Its the same end result...

Anyway, if there are better ways doing this, shout out, otherwise I'll just set this as solved 😄
