MESHING ERRORS: FACE TOPOLOGY / HOW TO REVERSE SIMPLIFY FUNCTIONS ON SIMULATION MODEL

Hi there, I'm having trouble performing modal analysis simulation on a model, I keep receiving the 'Meshing Error: Face Topology' message.

As shown in the images below, the message appears to be referring to the threaded components on each axis. As recommended in another post on this forum I have tried splitting the geometry by generating offset planes along the centerline of each axis, but this doesn't appear to have made any difference, except for generating an increased amount of error messages! I have also merged the threads on the internal components, which has also made no difference.

I've tried altering the mesh size, and I made sure to generate contacts automatically prior to generating the mesh (not sure if this would have any impact on the issue at hand).

I have experienced this problem in the past on similar assemblies but not all. Usually, this simulation is performed on similar models that are monoaxial as opposed to triaxial (internal components aligned only on the vertical axis). It is usually the threaded components where I have difficulty, and when using the split function in these cases it usually rectifies the problem.

I'm at loss as to what I should do, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous ,

This posting is old. Do you still need assistance?

Can you Attach prior designs that you have already completed in Fusion 360?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d/*.f3z file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
