Hello to the Fusion Design Community!

As always, we greatly appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to notify us of the issues that you find in Fusion, and we would like to show that appreciation!

In an ongoing effort to increase our transparency as well as our communication with you, we're continuing with our initiative of calling out all the Forum Reported bug fixes that are included in each update. The list below comprises all the issues that have been raised by our engaged community. So, without further ado, here is what we're going to see in the March 2025 update (creator of forum thread and the thread itself, in no particular order):

Design

We should now have better Joint behavior when working with Configurations

@AncientCowboy

Our Drawings module should do a better job of dimensioning

@bas1l

API query of Face Entities should return more helpful information

@adminBRJ4S

Measure and Default Measure should always show “Loop Length”

@davebYYPCU

Parametric formulas should produce the same result both visually and computationally

@davebYYPCU

We’ve updated the API Manual for how CustomColors are supposed to work

@joshM57CN

“Canvas” command will now display the  Active Component “Origin”, not the root Origin.

@g-andresen

We’ve improved the SelectionCommandInput validation capabilities

@nnikbin

@rolandas_vegis

Calling command based API during Command.Execute has better handling

@tomas.bangoA2EPZ

Time settings mismatch should prompt more informative error messages

Anonymous

We now let you know when and why a “Delete” is converted into a “Remove” feature

@k.huxmann

We've made some improvements to Constrain and Sketch Geometry

@axel.dumas.kct

Just as in prior updates, this isn’t to suggest that those are the only fixes that we've included in the update. The list above are the issues specific to what’s been reported by the Design community; within this update our team has additionally found and fixed well over 100 different bugs and issues.

Still haven’t seen your issue on the list and wondering if/when it's going to get fixed? Don't hesitate to "bump" the original thread that you created, and I'll be happy to chase down the status of your issue!

Thanks for contributing to what makes the software truly great!

Hello seth.madore,

I checked the Fusion 2601.0.90 x86_64, and I could not find any change of the result of   https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-api-and-scripts/odd-bug-of-decal-api/td-p/13268922 .

Best regards,

I'm just the messenger reporting what we claim to have fixed. I'll touch base with the devs and see if this was a premature announcement on my part 🙂

It was premature on my end, my apologies. We've fixed it internally, but it looks like it's slated for the next major update (hopefully).

To clarify your comment though;
In the image you shared above, isn't it showing the decal where it's supposed to be? The image that you shared in your original thread has the decal randomly placed over the faces:

Thank you seth.madore,

All decals are rotated by the same 1 rad:

Screenshot 2025-03-26 105724-2.png

But sometimes the rotation is ignored:

Screenshot 2025-03-26 104159-2.png

And it depends on the extrude length of the cuboids. 0.6, 0.8, 1.2 mm are ignored.

Odd but reproducible.

Best regards,

Ah, I see! I was chatting with the devs about this and it looks like they misunderstood the reported bug. They did solve for the X/Y placement of the decals, but didn't take into account rotation around Z. We've reopened the task and will address it in a future release 🙂

After the update, when pressing a face, a torus appears from no where and cuts the body if the push is accepted. No idea what is going on with this one. There is no torus in the design. See attached screen record.
