making a vacuum forming mold

I am trying to create a vacuum forming mold for a part. I can do it simply by making a sketch of the outline of the part and then doing an extrude of the sketch and then a subtract of the two bodies.

However, I want to do it in a more automated fashion. I can use Fluid Volume and then Subtract to create a negative but that really only works for injection molding.

I could also do extrudes for each of the faces underneath (rather time consuming) and then combine them into one body.

Any other suggestions on how to do this in a more automated fashion?

thank you for the reply, this is the right side view of the vacuum forming mold. To make this vacuum forming mold, I had the initial part (solid body), I created a 2D sketch of the profile (I had to adjust to make sure I got the internal cavities below the part), did an extrude of that 2d sketch, and then subtracted the part from the extrude. That approach works fine but I am looking for something more automated and precise. For an injection molding mold, i could just do a "fluid volume", create a negative of the part, and do a split body. But that approach will not work for vacuum forming.

this thread covers various techniques to create a vacuum casting mold (the surf board video was particularly good) but I don't have any history in my model. It is based off a 3d scan.

the mouse example does not work completely for the model I have
