Jointed components move randomly when 'Do not Capture Timeline' command executed and then reversed

Help appreciated please-- this is driving me nuts!

I am putting the part in direct edit mode to update a link component but when I reverse that and start recording the timeline again all the joints are knackered, its almost s though it has exploded the part.

I have only been working with Fusion for 8 months so so I have a feeling I am missing something.

Thanks in advance

The total mess resulting from putting in edit mode and then back in timeline mode (almost everything has randomly moved apart from the grounded component):

I am not sure what you mean by putting the part in direct edit mode to update a linked component.

Lets say I have a model called 'block'

I 'insert component' into a new model called 'assembly'.

I insert other components and apply joints.

I open 'block' on it's own and make changes. And save.

I open 'assembly' and get the yellow triangle prompting me to update, which I do.

No need to put the part in direct edit mode?

Turning the timeline back on does NOT reverse having it turned off. By turning the timeline off you effectively kill the parametric history of your design! Unless you use the undo command immediately, there is no way to get it back, other than to go to a previous version of the design and lose the work you've done since that version was saved.

Thanks for posting. As the other posters here explain, there should be no need to remove parametric history just to edit a part. Please let us know if you have more questions.
