Hi, I have imported a step file into Fusion 360 Hobby Edition and then created other bodies in relation to this created body. I would like to combine all the bodies into one using the Combine function, but I can't select the body created from the step file, it is also colored differently in the tree structure, see attachment. Please how to proceed further? Thank you.

Hi,

The orange icon in the browser is a surface and is why you cannot combine it with a body. If you create a body with

the thicken command it should work.

Hello, thank you for your help, I succeeded in converting to body. I am now trying to combine the two bodies using the Combine function, but it gives me an error. I searched for that solution on https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Unable-to-combine-...  and it's item Inspect - Validate, but I probably don't have it in the free edition.

Thank you for your help

inspect/validate should be available in the free version.  timeline has to be off to access.

can you post your fusion model? or at least a screen shot of the surface body?  there are hundreds of possible problems with an imported stp, repairing is very dependent on the specific geometry.

You can also edit the base feature for each of the imported bodies 😉
