Is there a shortcut in Design mode, to enable pan mode

I find it interrupts my flow to go to the pan mode "hand" at the bottom. Is there a way to enable it momentarily? (shift-mouse etc but they don't do it.)

With Pan, Zoom, Orbit shortcuts set to Fusion, in your Preferences, Pan is a simple hold of the Mouse Middle button.

Unfortunately my mouse middle button is a wheel and a bit squirmy. I was hoping for a shift/etc combo/

Does your mouse/finger board thing, if your working on a laptop have a middle button out of curiosity?

And this is just a suggestion, I'm unsure if it would work, but there's a pluggin (there's a paid and a free) called Add any shortcut or whatnot, This may allow you to add your own specific shortcut, however I'm not entirely sure, as I've only seen it make general modelling tools into shortcuts.

Yes I am using a wireless mouse on a desktop.it does have a wheel which doubles as the middle button. Anyway, thanks!
