Is it possible to revolve lines/paths into a surface?

I've been using another 3D CAD tool and frequently leveraged the ability to draw a line or path sketch (that isn't closed), then revolve that sketch into a surface.   Or, I could extrude a surface into a shape with zero-width walls which to which I could later add dimension.  I can't seem to do either in Fusion 360.

When I attempt to revolve, it doesn't allow me to select lines.   And it appears I can only revolve 'closed' sketches.  However, I definitely want to revolve a line into an open surface!

Is what I want to do possible?

Hi,

Yes you can, just use the revolve in the patch workspace

Will rotating the sketch accomplish what you want to do?

Will you elaborate on this please?  Explain how its done.  I also am having trouble with this. In Solidworks I can draw a line and revolve it around an axis and give it a thickness and it will design an object for me.  What would be the steps in Fusion 360?

In Fusion you first use Surface > Revolve:

Then Thicken the resulting surface body:
