Hey,

When I do a drawing and I add in a exploded view to give context for another component thats on the sheet. The title block updates to the top level component and mass. I want the title block to ignore the view added from the animation environment.

At the moment the only way I can think of doing it is to add the animated view as a jpeg. But of course that wont update automatically.

I'm really trying to avoid exporting my 3D models to AutoCAD

OK, think I've done what you describe but I don't see the mass in the title block change after adding the story board as a base view. Have I done something different to you?

Edit.

I see now if you only have one component in the original base view but the whole assembly in the exploded view you get the mass for the assembly! You even get the total mass if you hide parts in the exploded view. @ClintBrown3D Any ideas about this?

Hello @ParametricScenicXYZ

I can see this behaviour at my end as well, when we add a new view chain or new storyboard we get the total mass of the assembly and this seems a known behaviour. We have a task to include a source to the title block to make this as the user wants. For now can you please try the below workaround ? Let me know if this works for you.

  1. Add a new/duplicate title block for the sheet you want to have this material and mass information.
  2. Do not add attributes of mass and material in this Title block.
  3. In this sheet Add Text and Add Properties for Material and Mass and place in Title block as shown in image.
  4. Make sure when adding material and mass properties you select the proper source.
  5. Now when you add other views this material and mass will not change as this is reference the source you selected.
