See the image below, displayed bedsides the 1:1 import in fusion.  Standard JPG.

I've never seen this problem prior to latest update.

Hi,

While I am not sure specifically what the problem here is, I am guessing that the image has

been distorted by fusion when you imported it from those pics.

I cannot tell you why fusion does this but as I frequently import a canvas when I am working.

I can say that you should never rely on the canvas scaling exactly when you import it. ALWAYS

use the Calibrate function after you have imported a canvas and when you get that correct you

then should position your Origin where you need it.

The good news here is that you have a handy reference tool to calibrate from so it should be

fairly exact. I find the most frustrating thing is it will not remember an Origin when you do

the calibration scales.

Cheers

Andrew

Hi Andrew, yes I always calibrate but in this case it is not correctly importing the aspect ratio

Here is the original photo - you can see the aspect ratio looks correct here also, so I do wonder why Fusion gets it wrong

Hi,

Hello,

1. Open the file in any app and save it without editing it.

2. Import it into Fusion.

Hi,

Fusion sometimes misinterprets the metadata of iPhone images.

As far as I know, this “strange” metadata is generated during the conversion from the original iPhone HEIC format to JPG format.

If you open the image in an app and save it without editing it, the metadata becomes “readable” for Fusion.
