I have a Part I can not Delete?

Doing my project and I made  part  and it was in the drawing but hidden.  Now this part is floating around because I was able to select the main body and Move it away.  I can highlite the stray part but Delete from the keyboard does nothing. If its selected I can get the function menu but it shows nothing selected?

I thought I could just Select the main body and then Copy and Paste into another drawing but there does not seem to be a Copy / Paste function.

Can you post some screenshots? It's hard to follow exactly what you're trying to describe.

I think I know what happened.  I made a part and Saved as a normal file, and then Inserted it into the Drawing I am using.  I can not delete in that Drawing nor can I Delete in the Data area and even when I Open and then Delete that part its still there?

Check out this thread and let me know if this is what you're experiencing. You may need to select remove instead of delete.

I found this same behavour in other recent posts.  The part I made, Saved and then Inserted into my current drawing can not be Deleted either in the OEM part file or the in the dtrawing into which the part is used.   I can select it in my current drawing and the Options menu comes up, but when Delete is selected, it  de-selects the part and said I need to Select to Delete??  This seems to be a bug in the software, someplace I should be able to get rid of that Inserted part either in my Current drawing or the OEM part file.

No such thing as Remove is ever offered.

OK Job done, I was missing the History file, once that was visible again, I found where the File was inserted and Delete ,.,, its G o n e.

Thanks for the answers, but it would be nice to know this or just be able to Select and Delete without all the work arounds.
