How to create body from set of cross sections? Possible?

Hey,

I would like to create a body from a set of cross sections given as curves drawn in sketches. Is that possible?

E.g. to create a body resembling a sphere there would be a set of e.g. xy sketches and xz sketches with circles in appropriate diameters.

I want to reconstruct an object given in a book as a set of cross sections.

Can this be done using fusion360?

Best regards Timm

And what would be the best approach to achieve this?

Datum is placed in a position to use symmetry, a centre line, centre point?

Each sketch is located at a depth distance.

Your original question was so vague will need pic, file, or Screencast of what you have, and what you want as end goal.

Might help.....

You mentioned circular cross sections, here is one.  Please post your model, a picture of what you desire, more information in general.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it. Model I used in the video is attached.

Can you post details of the Objrct and/or cross sections?:

"object given in a book as a set of cross sections"

Is it a yacht hull for example?
