How to close the shape?

Hi!

I imported DXF file into Fusion. The shape defined by the sketch should be closed, but it is not and I can not to extrude it. I tried to close the shape, unsuccessfully.

The file with this shape is enclosed as an attachment.

Please, can somebody help me?

Kind regards,
Hrvoje 🙂

No, the sketch distorts when Moved to Sketch Plane.

Redfine Sketch Plane places it perpendicular to the plane, and therefore a 3d sketch.

Dxf files are time soaks. Quicker to draw it in Fusion from this reference, which does work.

The geometry isn't on the sketch plane.  You should import the dxf file without having an open sketch.  If that doesn't work, then create a new sketch on the same plane as the geometry.  Project the geometry to the new sketch.  If the projected geometry doesn't create a closed boundary, then use the coincident constraint on all of the white circles.  If it still doesn't create a closed boundary attach the new file to the thread.

Are you able to attach the original DXF file to have a look at?

If this answers your question please mark the thread as solved as it can help others find solutions in the future.

I've created a Windows application (and now Mac as well) for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.
If you need to know how to offset threads for 3D printing then I've created a guide here which you might find useful.
If you would like to send me a tip for any help I've provided or for any of my software applications you've found useful, you can do this via my Ko-Fi page here.

That script is useful when the geometry is on the sketch plane.  It won't work for this file.
