how to add parameters to imported model

I am very new to Fusion 360 and I have obviously missed something in the literature.

I have imported an stp file and wish to add parameters. much like using the parameter dialog box when working on a sketch.

I was wondering one, is it possible to assign parameters using the "parameter dialog" on to an existing (imported) model or two, is there an alternative method to assigning specific parameters ( ie length, height,..) to specific faces / splines that can be dynamically controlled?

Or three, I am just barking up the wrong tree?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thx

Sadly you cannot in Fusion add geometry dimension to an imported model.

Models can be in Fusion created by using modeling functions and parameters because the model will be build all the time on the fly.

I was afraid of that.

Oh well, I guess I have to actually do some work.

Thank you for your response.

If you can share your model, and describe some specifics, maybe we can provide more specific advice.
