Hobby licence renew

Hello.

I have a hobby licence that is going to expire on November 11th.

I understand that it is possible to extend it for another year or have a foreseeable future licence. 

I am a retired moulding engineer and my hobby is 3d printing. I have found Fusion 360 to be the best modelling software i have used and would like very much to keep on using it.

Hi @Anonymous,

No problem at all - we want you to keep on using it! What will happen is right about October 11 (so 30 days prior to expiration), you will see a countdown ticker within Fusion that states "Term Expires in xx days". All you need to do is click this countdown timer when it appears in October and then sign up again as a hobbyist user.

I am in a similar position to the original poster and agree that Fusion360 is very useful and simple to use.

I am a retired engineer using it for my hobby. I do no paid work.

I have had an email telling me that my free subscription will end on Oct 21st 2017 and that I should renew by clicking the timer countdown button in the top bar.

My problem is that there is no such button !

Please can you advise.

Hi guys,

I checked into your accounts and found the following:

@Anonymous - it looks like you are under a student license, not a hobbyist. Can you confirm this? In Fusion if you go to the Help menu and select About, it should say Student next to active plan. From what I can see in our backend - your student license is set to expire on 10/21/2019 so you should be all set!

@Anonymous - It looks like you are under a hobbyist license and it set to expire on 11/11/2017. In two days (since that will be within the 30 day countdown timer) you should see that timer pop up within Fusion which you can click and renew your hobbyist license.

Hello, I have some other problem. About two days ago I was making things on Fusion on my laptop. Then error showed up and only solve was to reinstal fusion. After that my software licence changed from hobbyst to educational. I didnt check anything. When I reinstaled fusion licence changed by itseld. Howcan I change it back?

Why is it so hard to get someone at AutoDesk /Fusion 360 to give us a DIRECT URL where we can go download or renew a HOBBYIST LICENSE.   I see the regular purchase and educational links but none for the HOBBYIST LICENSE.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous,

The hobbyist license is done in-product only. There is no need to reinstall/uninstall etc. All you need to do is click the "Subscribe Now" or "Trial Expires in" message and follow the prompt to sign up as a hobbyist. 

To download Fusion 360 (there is only one installer, regardless of sign up) use this direct download link here.

I have tried to get the correct URL to download and you gave me the link
to download Fusion 360 Hobbyist Version of Fusion 360 and just received

I just spoke to one of your representatives at Fusion 360. She gave me
a case number

I originally signed up for the Fusion 360 Hobbyist version about a year
ago. At the time my understanding the FREE license was valid for one
year and could be renewed on an annual basis.

When I spoke to the lady that gave me my case# she told me that the FREE
license was valid for one year and could be renewed on an annual basis
was no longer valid and that I had to renew a 30 day trail each month to
maintain the FREE Hobbyist License. I asked her when this changed and
she knew nothing about it.

Has AutoDesk Fusion 360 changed their original policy at it pertains to
the FREE licensing for HOBBYIST???????

I am thoroughly confused.

I received an e-mail from Shannon McGarry about renewing. I was unable
to access my Fusion 360 account as it would not load so I was not able
to process the renewal. I sent Shannon a reply e-mail with details but
have not received a response.

Apparently the last Fusion 360 update had some requirements that my
video card could not process. I was unable to open the product the
product to process the renewal.

I visited your forum and was told about the Fusion 360 Cleaner to
un-install the program and allow for re-installation of Fusion 360.

Please advise on what the current policy is on the FREE Hobbyist Version
and a link that describes this policy.

My goal is to either renew my current Fusion 360 FREE Hobbyist Version
for a one year period. I had to delete the current FREE Hobbyist
version of Fusion 360 that authorized my current use which has probably
expired due to all this nonsense or to just apply for a new account of
the FREE Hobbyist version via the link you supplied to me.

A friend of mine recently renewed his Hobbyist version without any
issues. Sorry, but I am just trying to figure out how to get my Fusion
360 running again like it did a couple of weeks ago.

I just renewed my Hobbyist license.  Basically once F360 expires, you click the link at the top right window.  It walks you down a path of purchasing a license, but there is a popup window where it says something to the effect that you may qualify for free use.

Check the boxes if it applies (personal use, and user agreement), then it is good.  For how long, I don't know....

The button in the upper right hand side of the Fusion 360 states: "Expired: Buy now".  I could find no way whatsoever to prolong the hobby license. I read and followed all your articles you refer us to, I uninstalled and re-installed the program, but I do not see any option to prolong the license.  I don't understand why it should be so difficult and completely non-intuitive, and, frankly, it makes me seriously suspect that if the same people wrote the program, it's not going to be user friendly at all.

Anyway, how can I renew my hobby license? And no, the way you describe it here doesn't work.

P.S. OK, I, finally, found the tiny link at the very bottom of the screen that pops up right after clicking on the "Expired: Buy Now" button.  I guess there was no way to hide it better.  Two hours wasted...

Here is what I found.  To my knowledge there is no screen you can go to that says "Startup/Hobbyist Renewal"  You have to go to the BUY SCREEN like you are requesting an original Startup License.  You will get to a screen like the one shown below.  You have to look for the small print that says "You may qualify for free use.  See if you Qualify.  Click that link and it will take you to the appropriate page where you can make your selection as to Startup/Hobbyist.  Follow those instructions and you subscription will be renewed for another year.  Make sure your use the same name and other ID requirements and you should still have all your data that you created during the initial year of your subscription.

Hope this is some help as I thought there would some type of renewal screen and as it turns out you have to go through the whole registration process again which is fine.  It would help if Autodesk would tell you this in the first place.

This is now wildly out of date and it seems impossible to renew a Mac Fusion 360 Hobby License online 2019-05-02

The Mac APP version of 360 is no longer in the App store and pints one to the online account, where is says your license is no longer valid ?!

More renewal problems.

My startup subscription expires on August 16, 2019.

I got an orange (subscribe now) button that appeared in my tool bar.

When I click it I get a dialog box the says Buy Now.

Lower in the box it has a highlighted link (have a fusion 360 representative contact me)

It also says (see if you (qualify- another link) for free use.

If I click any of the options in this dialog box Fusion 360 lock up,

I have to restart Fusion 360 and I am not able to renew my subscription.

What is up?????

Try accessing your Autodesk account via the Web at https://accounts.autodesk.com/. I'm not 100% sure you can renew there, but it's worth trying.

I have same situation. I have tuned windows services to boost up my old pc hardware performance... but nothing error is visible anywhere, just only frozen Fusion360 window.

I haven't used Fusion 360 for about a year, but now I'm having trouble getting my subscription to renew. When I go to the subscription page and try to renew, it says that I should sign out of Fusion 360 and sign back in. Well that isn't working for me; Fusion still shows "Term has expired".

Any help would be appreciated.
