Geometric Patterns - Extend face selection

in "Geometric Pattern" Design (with product design extension)

could it be possible to "chain" select tangent "faces" ?

it's really very limited to be able to use only single face...

I was excited when I heard about this feature first coming out.  Disappointed with the outcome.  They said they were going to keep working on it and iron a few things out, but....

I guess that it should be able to work as for the "Emboss" feature... which is quite similar...
