Fusion 360 install problem

Anonymous
Not applicable

When I try to install Fusion 360 from the link in the activation email (subject: Your Fusion 260 Account is Ready!), I get a dialog with

Unexpected Error

HTTP Error 403: Forbidden.
Please attach the file ".\streamer.log" to any problem reports before closing this dialog.

A search of my computer fails to find streamer.log.

I'd appreciate some help with this.

Thanks.

Can you  upload the autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log located in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Autodesk on your machine to this forum thread? You may also e-mail it me directly at Nathan.Chandler@Autodesk.com.

Thanks,

Can you check the below directories for the autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log file?

On Windows:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Autodesk

On Mac OS:

~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/

This is the installation log file for Fusion 360, it may reveal further information about the problem. Please attach it to a reply.

You may also want to review the below link for tips on how to troubleshoot network connectivity for Fusion 360. From the error message, I would assume that you have a firewall or proxy server that may be interfering with the streaming installer file’s internet access. However, it could be one of the other factors mentioned in the below link.

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Netw...

Please review that link and let me know if it helps to resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Hi,

In looking at the log file we are seeing an Errno 10109 which appears if there's a network connection issue. So we'll start there.

Can you tell us a little more about your network setup?

  1. Are you on a cabled or wifi connection? Is the speed adequate? www.speedtest.net can help you see what your upload/download/ping speeds are. Our presumption is this is not the problem but always good to check.
  2. Presuming you already have an A360 userid/account can you access your hub via the web browser - myhub.autodesk360.com? We'd want to know if you're blocked or not.
  3. Are you working in an environment that uses a proxy server? If so, do you know if it's a non-authenticating or authenticating proxy setup? Fusion works with most non-authenticating proxy setups without additional configuration needed. For autheticating proxy setups you'll likely need to add the Fusion servers to your "safe server" list. To see if this might be the case aside from asking the IT folks you can try installing from another network (e.g. Starbucks or a public libary).
  4. Do you have an antivirus program or a firewall running? Depending on the settings Fusion can be blocked from connecting to the network. If this might be the case you can try disabling these, run the install, and see if there's any difference.
  5. Could there be an environment variable or redirect blocking us? Specifically anything that might be redirecting network traffic through a specific server e.g. a Hosts file entry or the HTTP_PROXY environment variable. The Hosts file is located in \Windows\System32\drivers\etc. You can check the environment variables either by opening a command window and typing "set" then <Enter> or thru Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings > Environment Variables button.

Hope this helps with debugging. We look forward to resolving this issue and getting you up and running with Fusion 360!

Hi,

Thank you for your interest.
1. I am on wifi, I am connected to the same network with another PC and Fusion works fine on it. The speed is decent (10mb/s)

2. I can access

3.I am not using a proxy.

4.I am not using firewalls or antiviruses.

5 There is no variable redirecting me.

Could Windows 10 be the problem?

Hi,

Windows 10 could be contributing but we have run tests and Fusion doesn't have any apparent issues running on it outside graphics support.

Can you send me a good day/time/number you can be reached so we can more quickly troubleshoot/resolve?

Send it to kevin dot baribault at autodesk dot com.

Thanks!

Hi,

From the log there seems to be some communication issues with the network. Can you tell us more about how you're connecting to the internet? e.g. wifi, cabled, cable modem, wireless router, etc. Can you also go to www.speedtest.net and check the speeds for upload/downloads?

Finally, do you have other Autodesk products installed? If so, which ones?

Thanks!

Hi,

You should be able to access the download at: http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/try-buy

However if you're experiencing issues with the installer I am not sure this link will make a difference. If you continue to experience issues with the download and install please send us the autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log file which is located at:

Windows

  c:\users\username\appdata\local\autodesk

Mac

  /users/username/library/application support/logs

This might help us determine what may be causing the issue.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Are you running the installer via the Fusion 360 Client Downloader? Or are you installing from the Mac AppStore?

Also, what are you seeing when you try to install? Does it start then stop? Never starts?

And what kind of network are you running on? Office? Home? Public?

Has Fusion ever run on this system?

Finally, there should be a log file created under /users/username/library/logs called autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log. If you find it can you attach it here?
