From Remake to CAM in FUsion

Hi there

I have scan from Autodesk Remake and imported to Fusion. When I go to CAM its not selecting the surface its actualy saying that

there is no surface object so I thing the mesh is in wrong format.

Would someone know how to convert the mesh into a proper surface for CAM?

Thank you very much guys

@lars_christensen did a video on this sort of thing not too long ago. Hopefully it contains the information you're looking for as personally I have very little experience with meshes in Fusion 360.

Since the real issue at hand here is the importation of geometry I am going to flag the post and see if it can be moved to the Design subforum as there will certainly be more skilled users in this regard than here in the CAM subforum. But keep it updated, I'm curious to know what the issue is and how it's solved.

Almost forgot

when I click on the imported quad mesh object in fusion to convert and confirm the following form it shows error see the attach

I would say that the Remake is not converting it into quads because the error says 0 quads_?

Click your name in the upper right corner and select preferences, then uncheck auto triangulate meshes on import.Untitled.png

Hi there - I am a ReMake user myself.

I assume based on what you said sofar you exported from ReMake with Quadmesh export OBJ for Fusion 360. Right?

You imported a triangulated version into Fusion as evident in your screenshot.

As @PhilProcarioJr  stated there is an option in preferences to turn auto tessellation off.

When working with T-Splines you really only want to work with Quads. Currently it has problems dealing with triangle and ngon faces.

Let us know how things work out.
