Feedback requested - highlighting solutions in forum threads

I'm looking to get community feedback on the possibility of highlighting solutions in a thread, similar to what's done on the rest of the Autodesk forums (example here).  Do you think something like this would help ease locating the solution, and as a byproduct, increase adoption of marking a thread as "solved"?  Or, would it just add clutter?  Fire away with feedback!

Here is how it looks on the A360 forums (along with the actual posted solution being marked green in the thread):

@Beyondforce @HughesTooling @PhilProcarioJr - Is there any chance you guys could do a screencast or video showing the slow speed of the forums?  Unfortunately there isn't anything showing on the monitor tools signifying performance issues, so being able to show real world examples (along with your internet speeds) would be hugely helpful in getting the vendor to look deeper for a root cause.

@daniel_lyall Are you serious?!  Is it like that most of the time, or just randomly?  Either way that is totally unacceptable.

@brianreppyes 90% of the time at the workshop it takes a long time to load a page of this forum, and Fusion is just as bad. it's on a brand new fiber network so it should be super fast it's not. and its 500 m from the main junction box for the area where the shop is and its blenheims first junction on the main fiber cable.

I know it's not my computer at home I don't have any problems and it's on a old copper network it's staying this way.

To add to the slow forum info my isp gives ( not true I pay for it 😀) a 200 meg dl and its slow more so on a iPad bit better on a iMac I think it's the forum software having to redraw a lot of graphics

Hey @brianrepp,

You can ask your vendor, to test the connection through proxies around the EU, US and Asia. Let me know if they need help, I can show them how 😉

Here's a couple of screencast. The first shows trying to add an Idea to the idea station. The second trying to edit the idea because the suggestion menu change my title. @brianrepp can you remove the first idea as there's no way to edit or even report an idea to admin.  Link to POST.

One note on screencasts, I'm pretty sure they run fast by 10-15% so it's even slower than it looks.

At the end of this screencast I open the Rhino forum and Ebay to show there's no problem with other sites.

Mark

PS I added a second idea with the correct title HERE.

@HughesTooling really appreciate the screencasts.  I sometimes see the delays you were showing on the forums, but nothing like the initial time you went to the Ideastation.  I'll pass these along.

I was excitedly waiting for you to click "Buy it now" on the EDM 🙂

For the Ideastation, you should have the ability to edit your title (and also Report to mod, if you so desired).  Once you click into the idea, click the gear icon in the upper right.  You wont have the same options I do, but you should have both Edit and Report:

@brianrepp Thanks for the help but someone's removed the second idea with the correct title and left the one with the incorrect title. I just asked for the first one to be removed so I think I'll end up with both deleted.Smiley Sad

edit @brianrepp Looks like this has been fixed and the second idea with the correct titles backSmiley Happy, hope the people that voted for it the first time vote for it again!

Hey Mark - good news is they shouldn't be totally gone, so likely recoverable.  What was the title of the one you wanted to KEEP?

For what it's worth I don't see as slow of speed to load the forum as is shown in the screencast but I have always noticed considerable lag compared to most other sites I visit.

Hey @brianrepp,

So this is my loading experience today. I must say, the forum was relatively fast today, so just imagine how it is when it's not working like in the screenshot.

The preparation of the screencast on your system is also VERY slow. Sometimes it can up to 10 minutes till the screencast is ready!

@daniel_lyall those videos are super helpful (and CRAZY slow), thank you!  Curious, are you on the same computer at both work and at home, or a different machine?
