  • You can use any mac or windows program you want.
  • unlike you, i don't go on those support posts trolling other people that have a valid request, which is have it in Linux because we find it better.

Diversity is good it creates better programs. Just like free market creates more value.

See post 103 😀

Judging from all of the responses in this thread, I'd say Linux users have an attitude problem.  There have only been one or two posters who have put together reasoned arguments for porting Fusion 360 to Linux.  Most are just insulting and/or demanding.

p.s. I use Linux every day, just not for Fusion 360 as Windows works very well for me and millions on others.

I think basing that on feedback on this forum or in this thread this isn't a fair assessment either 😉

It's just a few vocal folks who haven't learned to channel their frustrations into something more productive.

This is a post where people asked for fusion 360 to have support.

Windows fans come here on purpose to troll trying to deny something to others that won't affect them in any matter. And the people requesting for support are the ones with "attitude"? Lol.

Do you see us going to windows support posts saying: "what could you expect, it's windows, autodesk shouldn't look and care fixing this issue?".

Exactly, we don't.

@joao_mamede the attitude isn't expressed in what you ask for, it is expressed in how you ask for it!

Granted, some Windows and macOS users also have an attitude, but then it's up to each individual to rise above that in their response.

Give me an example of bad "attitude" that wasn't a reply to a windows fan trolling. (attitude is never expressed, behavior is, by psychology definition).

By the way, about market share, I don't know what is your definition of minuscule, but it's only seteadily 3x less than MacOSx across the years (not accounting chromeOS that is indeed linux) and without a lot of commercial apps support, it's a chicken and egg, you can't ask for people to pay the train ticket without rail tracks where they live or want to go to.

If market share is the reason, something I'd like to compare is what was the market share of MacOSx when fusion 360 had the development starting for it, like this I could keep tracking when linux reaches that mark and ask for a client.

Fair, no?

For autodesk it's more clients, not a percentage of current ones. Linux folks would even be happy with a layer in between linux wine/crossover base (which is what I am using right now). Then they could see if it's worth to make a more "native" solution. But all we have is "silence".

Post 103 is absolute rubish without any valid source. Sorry, like I said, for some people it's better to just guess things instead of actually reading and researching for real data.

I think you did not quite get my point of raising above trolling. My point was to not respond with the same bad attitude a troll might have had. However, I can see that you have a distinct need to "be right" and having an open conversation is not your intention. As such I will ignore further posts from you!

Here's an example of bad "attitude" from you. But hey, keep insulting people having valid requests all you want. Feel free to ignore people that disagree with you, it's your choice.

@joao_mamede I hate windows but I need it for work and this will never change, so I use what I need I do not need to use Linux right now, have I used it yes will I again yes so please do not guess what I may or may not like..

The user base is judged on cad/cam users, not computer type users.

But hey, keep insulting people having valid requests all you want. Feel free to ignore people that disagree with you, it's your choice.

How is someone saying to you to ignore people with a bad attitude and a bad attitude?

Where did I insult you?

Quote please, thank you.

I said the information of a previous post is rubbish, which it is because:

1. has no sources

2. I provided one (valid or not) source that proves it to be false.

Now, where is that an insult? Did I tell you to use linux (No).

Anyway, this is a waste of time.

Please Autodesk, consider making a linux client so that I don't have to carry a windows license.

Thank you!

"The user base is judged on cad/cam users, not computer type users"

You can't judge on "current" cad/cam users, if you force them to work cad/cam on only 1 or 2 OS'es. You have to judge on the prospect of increasing your products sales numbers, to current users and new ones. Therefore, by system types.

Like I said in the metaphr, you can't say you are not going to build a train line because don't take the train...when there's no train lines in their vicinity....no?

Are you considering supporting Linux if user demand grows?

I know I am very late to join this discussion, but I just want to know why Fusion 360 has blocked Linux users from downloading Windows or Mac versions?  Autodesk has also blocked Linux users from using Fusion 360 online and blocked the log in on the Lutris version of Fusion 360.

Is it possible to unlock the Windows Fusion 360 download file for Linux/Unix users?

Hello everyone 😀,

if you are looking for a way to run Autodesk Fusion 360 on Linux, then I can imagine my project on Github:

I'd like to know that too. Lack of support for Linux is one thing, but adding yet another hinderance to everyone that wants to work their own solution doesn't make sense. I'm assuming there just isn't a catch all for unexpected UA strings, but that's just sloppy.
