Designing shock absorber.

Hello , 

I am designing a shock absorber . I have an downloaded one . But I want to make my self . 

But dont know how to make spring , see the image provided . I know there is a function of coil , But the spring I am making has different diameter in middle and at ends its different . So how to make it .spring.JPG

You need some construction bodies, 

 

front profile like an oval, is Patch > Revolve, 

Then Patch > Sweep with Twist, a horizontal line, from axis to. Wider than oval, with pitch of twist.

Split Revolve Body with pitched twisted body.

Create 3d Sketch, Project > Include 3d Geometry, select Split body edge off the Revolve Body.

Hide Patch Bodies.

Create Model > Sweep, steel spring.  

There is a YouTube video to cut the spring in one plane and Revolve joints on each segment, for a working Spring.

that's exactly... should work... i made a few springs weeks ago

The diameter AND the Pitch varies, be sure that your example includes the variable pitch to be a valid response to the Design Intent.

thanks for the advice... but for now i just made with differnt Diameter... ... @sanket223.patil tell if this work for you. i'm uploading the screencast.
