Design appears in lines instead of metal solid

Hi,

I am having a problem such that after I create a sketch and extrude it upwards, the design will appear in lines instead of a grey solid (as shown in the attachments). How do I convert the design back to grey solid?

most likely, you are in "wireframe" mode.  You can change it here at the bottom of the screen:

"Shaded with Visible Edges Only" is the default
