Creating Documentation - Issue with Screen Captures in Fusion

@brianrepp

I create a lot of documentation for Word docs and Powerpoint.

I generally use Snag-it or simply Windows Print Screen or Alt+Print Screen.

So the normal workflow is to drill down in the Ribbon to desired tool that I wish to demonstrate and hit Print Screen.

Trouble is, in Fusion I immediately loose the desired focus and do not get captured screen image.

I used to be able to do this and it works with all other software.

Has something changed with Fusion that causes this workflow to no longer work?

(we are exclusively Window OS)

Hi @JDMather.

I use FastStone Screen Capture, it's perfect!

Can you post an example image of a Fusion in Windows drop down from ribbon?

@JDMather

Here is an example from FastStone: (The really Nice thing is no need to crop anything...just select what you want to capture and it does all the grunt work)

@Beyondforce is correct it is a very nice screen cap app. I have been using it for a while...

Well, at least I see that  you are able to get a screen capture.

We will not be able to install additional software in computer labs, so now I just need to figure out why Snag-it or even Print Screen is not working when it used to work.

@JDMather

I don't think your problem is with Fusion as you can see here I just did a Ctrl-Print Screen and captured the expanded ribbon toolbar.

OK, I solved my problem with Snagit.

I had the hotkey set as PrintScreen, changed it to another key and the new key works with Snagit and PrintScreen works with Windows clipboard.

Interesting though, that the only program I had issue with was Fusion.
