I have sketch geometry in the YZ plane. I want to copy/paste it into a sketch in the XY plane at various values of -X using point-to-point PASTE command. this means the geometry will still be in YZ, just that it will be aligned and have new X values.
when I put the YZ plane sketch in EDIT mode my XY sketch becomes unavailable. when I COPY outside of EDIT mode then I can't get a PASTE command to show up.
I've done this before, but can't replicate the environment I had set up.
please tell me the environment I need, that is - I have from sketch, lets call it sketchA, and to sketch, sketchB. what mode do I select the geometry for the COPY? what mode for PASTE? do I need construction planes at the locations I am moving the geometry to? is there a concept of current active plane perhaps that I am missing?
like I said, I got this to work on prior iterations. the second attachment shows a similar arrangement of what I am trying to achieve. these are cross section stations of a kayak paddle. I use them to loft the paddle blade [well, half of it since it is symmetric].
