Change Parameters Help

Hi

I have been advised to use the Change Parameters menu item to setup user defined measurements for my project.

I have started this project where I have a plate that is 10mm thick. It will have other parts attached to it that may also be 10mm thick.

But I know that I may need to redesign the frame to different measurements, highly likely 6mm.

Some one suggested making User defined parameters with names that I can change in the Change Parameter area as this will save redrawing the whole project.

I carn't seem to understand how to make a user defined parameter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have attached the plate for the frame to this post if that helps.

Kind Regards

Ian

If you enter a. dimension, a counter in patterns or an angle this value is only accessible in the feature. If you define parameters and use them in features or sketches you have a central place to change those values. You can use one parameter in many features / sketches within a project so you can manipuilate even more elements with one parameter.
If you want to have a fully flexible design, you have to use constrains to convert the blue lines in your sketches into black lines and you have to use parameters..
