cannot get loft to work

Hello,

I've looked at other forum posts and some loft tutorials but I can't get a loft command to work for a adapter I'm trying to make between a some fans and a box too hold a filter. But it just won't work. How do I make this work? I think I'm missing something fundamental because this is not the first time I  haven't been able to make a loft work.

This will not work.

You can only loft an outer pofile or an inner profil.

In this case you need to loft two times. On loft for the inner and one loft for the outer contour.
Then cut out (combine) the inner from the outer body.

Fusion Loft has never been able to Loft hollow profiles in one go.

As mentioned, must be 2 step process.  

Loft and Shell or

2 Lofts second one is set to Cut.

Got it. I could have sworn I did faces in the past and it worked. 

I did it as two sets of closed profiles and then a combine. I wish there was a feature that would make the loft symmetrical, I had to drag around rails? to make things not be twisted.

Your full profiles are creating hard work for Loft to manage.

Simplify it.  L-shaped profiles can be done in one go.

For tangent curved sides, needs more work.

SOLID loft won't do hollow profiles.  surface loft will.

draw half the object, loft it. mirror the solid

or

add some strategically  placed rails.
