Bug report Part 2

As the title suggests, I have submitted something similar a few days ago, here is the thread:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/bug-report-joints-parametric/m-p/10360576#...

I understand that I may not be working in the most optimised way possible, but I covered my work process and the fact that modifications occur and I have to have a certain structure in the way I design such that when a modification occurs I understand how I worked previously.

That being said, my new problem comes form a completely different design, i.e. the one linked below.

It only works with the dimensions WxL=190x800 and any other one, at least on my computer breaks the piece.

This is critical for my company, as even though a bill of materials can be generated, a draft of the product cannot, that means that clients do not get a pdf of the part in their requested offer which loses us sales

Set timeline here, because your file is breaking here.

wgjsp.PNG

Change width parameter and the 2nd joint breaks, change length parameter and file does not break, with timeline here.

My guess is the Joint snap point selection when making the joint, (clutter?) because the short frame goes back to datum when when joint is broken.

Might help.....

Sorry but it doesn't. Even if i roll back the history marker up to there and then change the parameters, the file is still broken. The fact of the matter is that we send a STEP file to our clients and this update has made my life very difficult as i have to rebuilt everything every new offer.

As i see it, whenever I use a mirror on one of the frames, the file gets broken. I have explained why i cannot really change my workstyle as i have to work with non-technical people, and have to constantly debug and rebuilt. My workflow more than doubled since the last update, and i have to ask if you could rollback to the previous update, or tell me how to do it

That's what I said.

Why - the reason is on the left hand side of the timeline marker, and if you can't fix it, any more work is wasting time.

There are no mirrors left side of the timeline marker.  It is to do with Joint select points.

If you can't build a 2 piece half frame without error, your workflow is causing it.

Corrupted Joints are better deleted and replaced, than try to fix them.

If you can roll back the Fusion version you will be the first user to accomplish it.

Let me know if this frame breaks.

Ok so right now, I have redesigned the part without any mirrors. It works as intended, without any corrupted joints or corrupted capture positions.

I understand your frustration with this, but please understand that it used to work. My colleagues have encountered problems in previous parts, and all of them had issues, specifically related to the mirror then join of parts, not just in frames.

Currently there are about 1200 different parts in our library, and I cannot debug and rebuilt each of them.

My point is: It used to work, ergo the title.

So if you create half of a frame, join it, then mirror each side in relation to the other then join the mirrors, if you want to change the parameters it breaks the part. This is again very important to me and my job as it stands currently.

Thank you for your help so far!

I understand your frustration with this.  Not me, I can make a frame that does not break.

So if you create half of a frame, join it, then mirror each side in relation to the other then join the mirrors, if you want to change the parameters it breaks the part.  How did you do that?

I don't need the joints for the mirror components, because they are mirrored around a midplane of the originals.

Can you break my file? (it does not have the second set of joints).

There were some updates (12 months?) that gave similar reference problems, they were fixed quickly, but if your files predate those times, you may have to seek assistance from others.  ( @jeff_strater )

Might help....
