Basic noob question

Hi,

I have a very simple question I'm hoping someone will help me with.

I'm frequent hobby user of SketchUp and was asked by a plastics engineering company to create a 2D .dxf file for a small cnc project I am trying to complete (and can't do in the free version of SketchUp).

So I am in the process of redrawing my designs in Fusion (free version) and I am stuck on the simplest of things. I have a very simple question, how do I mark or measure specific points or distances?

For example, I have a rectangle that is 350 mm x 250 mm and I want 4 7 mm holes marked in each corner, exactly 18 mm in from the sides and 30 mm in from the top/bottom.

I know Fusion doesn't have guidelines or a measuring tape to mark out exact lengths and from what I can see there are no coordinates or cursor location displays shown anywhere to indicate the position of the cursor.

I know I must be missing something that can easily be done but I can't find the solution. Could a fair more experienced user please tell me the best way to do this?

I know how to get dimensions once the objects have been drawn but I want to know how you pin pointed the exact measurement / placement of the circle just before you drew it? For example, you drew the rectangle then clicked the circle tool, then how did you measure the exact centre point of 18 mm in x 30 mm in to start the drawing of the circle?

You don't.  Fusion uses parametric driving dimensions.

Place the point or circle anywhere and add the dimensions you want - Fusion will move to that location for you.
