Appearence only changes one side of a surface

I downloaded a Grabcad model (https://grabcad.com/library/flower-monstera-001-1) and loaded it into my Fusion 360 project. After making some changes I tried to apply different appearances to the different bodies/surfaces. My problem is that the appearence of the inner leaves only change one side of that leaf. No matter what function I use (changing appearance on a body, component, surface; changing physical material) I can't seem to change the appearance on one side which allways keeps this 'gold' color'.

Am I overlooking something obvious here?

Attached is my file.

Hi,

This is expected behavior. Bodies 3-5 are faces.

To do: Thicken them minimally and deactivate the faces.

Hello, I hope this video helps you figure it out. The solution is to create a body from the surface.

I've made it work. Thanks @artemSIV for the video 🙂

One question though. Why is that one side of a surface (something that has no thickness) always keeps this gold color no matter at what level (component, body, surface) I force an appearance?

The yellow side of a surface is the "back" side (away from the surface normal).  You can disable it here:

That's the setting I was looking for! Thanks
