animation of motion studies

Does anyone know the status of animation of motion studies in Fusion 360. I am familiar with Tanner Reid’s video (Rendered Animations from Motion Studies) which has an unusual workaround, i.e., use cloud rendering, but that no longer seems to be available. I have also done a search of the subject line and read through the hits, but didn’t find anything useful. I would like my students to be able to drive/animate constraints in their assemblies, and then create an animation that shows how the product works. We do this using Inventor Studio in another class of mine, and I would like to be able to do it in Fusion as well. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Jim, that sounds like a very interesting class you have!  From what I've read such availability of joints in the Animation module is expected to be released at some point, but not available currently.  In the meantime, although a work around, you can of course use any number of video screen capture programs, many free and able to capture a selected portion of the screen.  You can also of course turn off visibility of the joints to give a clean capture of the motion driven by a motion study, etc.

As you probably know, applications like Solidworks allow you to place motors, springs, gravity and contact etc on and between components. For some assemblies this is essential, eg cam and camshaft, where a spring or "contact" is required to keep the bodies in contact.

What is planned for F360 and do you have any idea when it will happen? Currently what exists is little more than a video capture function. That's not really what I'd expect to see in a "simulation" or "motion study", although I appreciate F360 is still in development.

Contact sets are getting part of the way there - but they still leave us short of where we need to be.

Hi, I don't work for Autodesk, but regarding springs, gravity, etc. were you aware of the rest positions that can be set for contact sets? (as shown in a vid here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/post-your-tips-and-tutorials/create-sliding-rolling-cam-assemblies/td...
