Uploading .dxf files to Fusion 360

Hello,

Having successfully updated my graphics driver to be able to view the data panel correctly I am now attempting to upload .dxf files. We have a Leica Disto S910 laser that formats to .dxf for file extraction, but when I try to upload a file it continuously says that it fails. Now I took a previous AutoCAD drawing that I saved as a .dxf file in order to be able to transfer it to another CAD program, and that file loads correctly. Normally I can upload .dxf files from the laser directly into AutoCAD with no problem, but I would like to send the file directly to Fusion 360 and skip the step in between. Is there a way for me to upload the .dxf files from the laser or must the file first be saved from AutoCAD in order to correctly upload into Fusion 360?

Hi Ozzie,

Fusion 360 can read the .dxf file contains 3D information, but I’m not sure if the files from the laser can be read directly. Would it be possible to send us a sample .dxf file so we can have a closer look?

There have been some problems importing DXF files if the file doesn't contain any layers. Most programs will at least put the info on Layer0 but some don't and Fusion will not import those files.

It would be upto Leica to create an add in for Fusion.
