Alignment of Sketches or Bodies to Plane or Point or Axis

I'm looking to align imported geometry to a Plane, Axis or Point accurately. Point Data from a CMM or an imported body just seems to be placed in the work envelope with no way to orient it to any meaningful Origin Axis or Plane. I can use the move command but it's not accurate and is quite tedious. Is there a way to say, select 3 points on the flat part of a body and snap move the body (or sketch) to a plane or any such move abilities? Also how about the selection multiple points at once via a window select?

Thanks!

You can create a plane through three points which will then allow you to create a sketch on that plane.  Create a joint origin on the sketch and use a joint to position the imported data.  Note: This assumes you've imported the data into a separate component.
