Align Sketch to body not working(?)

Hi, I'm a bit new from Fusion 360 but I do have a question about the align tool. I'm trying to align a sketch to a body. The tool is working till I press ok. then the sketch return in his original position. Any idea of what i'm doing wrong? Cheers

IMHO you don't want to move your sketch but you want to sketch on the target body. This works as long as the faces are planer. If they aren't other techniques like construction planes and projection or sheet metal comes into place.

This example shows how to sketch on a body.

But I need to center the rectangle on the cylinder.

Hi Andrea,

the align tool only works with bodies and components.

What do you mean with center? Centered between the bottom and the top face of the cylinder? Center of the rectangle aligned with the center of the the cylinder on the e.g. top face?

Yeah your right, sorry to be inaccurate. I mean, the center of the rectangle aligned with the center of the the cylinder on top face (where the rectangle is drawn)

Edit: But the main answer ism still: Draw on the faces and use constrains to align you stuff.
