Please add either a menu or check boxes within the "Tool Library, to allow for a user to select a "Standard Router" instead of a "Spindle". Ideally, this would remove other concerns from tool input (such as shoulder, body, etc.) or it would allow some manner of clearer interfacing for router users. The logic is that typical "Tool Holders" for spindles have set depths for the shank, and other concerns (such as shoulders and tool holder diameters which can be far more intrusive regarding collision). Additionally, a router often has a general cylindrical shape and nut which are far easier to identify (visually) in a graphic interface for users who are attempting to figure out which inputs should be placed where, for their tooling. I love sharing my Ideas, shamelessly sometimes. But, I also like to know where everyone else stands on their Ideas and cheer them on. And help turn it into a discussion to help provide clarity to it if needed and keep the momentum on great ideas. I love the concept of this type of collaborative event and workspace. I would like to remain informed that some other 'genius' contributed to the pool of 'ideas.' I feel it fair to the participants in this community that we enable ourselves to subscribe to an email notification. If the email contained the body, I would be more productive with your email. Hits to your site from this email do not measure your effect, but that of the body of the email. Keep it simple, make it secure and make it happen! Ahem! Not so fast! -Please. An email that's easy to read, plain text, and where the content, the idea, is the only thing that tells you to drive in and contribute. Lastly, please include after the body of the text, a few paragraphs down and smaller a link to unsubscribe. Like: <a href="youradresstothepost">IdeaSubject</a> <body> </body> <a href="unsubscribelink">Unsubscribe Here</a> But wait there's more! ; ) I think you guys got it from there. I hope this is a fairly easy task and one that gets good traction and support. I would like this project of community driven development to evolve maybe to start with an idea, make it happen and let the format become democratic. We need to show these young kids who can make change. Everyone. Together. And if I missed it in the UI, I apologize for my dumbassery, just point it out. 1. option to edit handles on nodes seperatly 2. Option to free transform sketches (as per Adobe Illustrator) 3. Option to add/refom functioning nodes 4. Add mirror tool that gives options of horizontal or vertical mirroring

Can you streamline the number of processes invoked/added? My organization uses Bit9 endpoint protection and if I need to open a model on that machine I routinely need to submit for new exceptions - on the order of 2-3x per week, and on updates (which I commend you for releasing so often) I need to submit 2-3 requests just for that update to complete.

You have heard the response to the cloud situation so I won't repeat that here. But I will say that another issue with offering cloud first is a slow down in how I work. I'll provide an example so you understand how your software slows down my workflow when it doesn't have to. TLDR: Allow desktop shortcuts so we can click on the model we want, loading Fusion 360 and that model in one go. With Photoshop, I have personal folders with all the PSD's I have been working on. When I want to work on a file, I don't open Photoshop and then open the file I want - it's the other way around. I double click on the file I want, then Photoshop opens, then it loads my file. By forcing users to open the slow loading Fusion 360, then open the slow opening Data Panel, then double click on their model it slows down the workflow, even if it's only by 30 seconds. To solve this, create/allow offline desktop shortcuts with links to the files in Fusion 360. This does 2 things - first, it allows people to work how they normally work by opening the file they want which opens the program - and it also gives you extra marketing/mindshare on a users personal system (showing a lot of Fusion 360 files vs only being accesible and visible by one app). I have attached a crude mockup of what the shortcuts could look like.

Deja (Stinkin') Vu Is it just me or am I the only one having flashbacks of the days when Inventor was still in its "Rubicon" stage?... Many of my posts from that time could be "CTL-C" ---> "CTL-V" 'd here in the f360 forums... er.. "Idea Station" And many of the Inventor "early days" posts could have been "CTL-C" ---> "CTL-V" 'd from the (even earlier) days of Mechanical Desktop development (yup... I said it... MDT). There must be an easier way. Let's hear from that still small voice in the wilderness that I know must still be there... hidden somewhere in a dark cube inside the Autodesk "SkunkWorks". The ones that have been here (many times) before... the ones that know what we need from this amazing new cloud-based technology!! C'mon boys!! BRING IT!. Your voice counts!!! I encourage you... Implore you!!... Empower you!! LET YOURSELVES BE HEARD!! Don't be afraid. Your "Street Cred" might be a bit dusty, gray, balding, beer bellied... But it still counts for something. Work with this new breed, with these crazy kids and their (amazingly valuable) wacky ideas! Their “Insane” ideas... Temper it, embrace it! Fire this f360 thing up with some Old Skool (dare I say "OG"?) knowledge and flare!! Get loud!... Go out on a limb. Press for what you _know_ is needed. Spend some of that political capital... What are you saving it for anyway!! Time's a wastin! Best, Brian

I ran into a problem where Fusion 360 would crash loading a design I had created with it the previous day. My laptop has both Intel HD Graphics 4000 and an NVIDIA NVS 5400M display adapters. It seems that if you're running the Intel you may be able to create a drawing with a reference image, but once you exit Fusion 360 and try to reload it'll likely crash the Intel display driver. I was able to switch to the NVIDIA adapter and load the drawing that was previously crashing. But there's a wrinkle - I thought I had been using the NVIDIA driver the entire time. The web deployment method for Fusion 360 causes a problem. The NVIDIA control panel stores settings for programs installed on the system, but your web deployment system changes the executable file location without the user being aware of it. So after the last update the location changed and the settings I had previously made were no longer being used and it was back to the default Intel adapter. So there are two action items: 1. Fusion 360 should pop up a warning when it's running with a graphics processor that's not sufficient instead of crashing. I'd think it should pop up a warning that the user can disable if they only have one adapter and accept the limitation. If they are like me this warning would be a clue that something has changed and the adapter control panel needs to be updated. 2. Fusion 360 should be installed in a more permanent location or at least a launcher could be in a more permanent location which then finds the webdeploy location - I suspect that the display settings for the launcher would then be used for any child programs that launcher kicks off.

Having the capability to track warranty calls from the owner would be really nice. Once project is complete warranty calls are destine to happen. How great would it be to have the owner request and the GC track warranty items in BIM 360 Field.

I am still of the opinion that there should be a separate forum for bugs. It's unnecessary to clutter the IdeaStation with entries s.a. this. Category:Install UI bug Versions:Fusion 360 1.8.604, OS X 10.7.5 (Lion) Streamer is Fragile As Glass 1. Launch the streamer Observe that the download starts (percentage starts running with two decimals - why not three?) 2. Open the streamer's menu (the one saying 'Fusion 360 Client Downloader') Expected: - it should be okay to open a menu, right Actual: - streamer becomes a "non-responding" application. = beach ball - percentage stops running on screen but download actually continues (if you have Activity Monitor open for network traffic) I used Force Quit to get streamer out of this stage. Tried thrice - always the same. Then settled to not open that menu. Also: "Now, what happens if I press that X over there?" Oops, the streamer app closes. Why would it do that? Why would the app makers want me to push this? I can quit the app from the menu (or Cmd-Q) if I want… Oh, but the menu got the app stuck. My suggestion: - fix the menu problem - remove the funny X icon - bonus: use only one digit in the progress indication?

Reporting here, though it's not ideation. Versions:Fusion 360 1.8.568 -> 1.8.601, OS X 10.8.4 I had noticed the Release Notes for a new version at the Forums, so clicked 'search for updates' icon in the toolbar. The program told 'no updates available' so I continue the work (or whatever it is I'm doing). Later, I move the mouse too fast, and Fusion 360 starts beach balling (gets stuck). I notice the dock now has duplicate icons for Fusion 360 and Sim 360. This is not normal (other self-updating apps never show two sets of dock icons). Notice that the leftmost Fusion 360 has the 'running' indicator. The others don't. Happened: Jul 31st 21:00 .. 22:20 GMT+3 I'll Force Quit the running instance now and see what happens. The left icon points to: webdeploy/69e5777f7670ab8fe6a5d402b114295c37eba7a4/Fusion360.app (no version info, 1.0) The right icon points to: webdeploy/1b540d9427bb7bbd438f42f69735ab27b95b8d7b/Autodesk Fusion 360.app(version 1.0) I'll start the new version now. All seems okay. Launching the new version removed the old version's icons from the Dock (but what if I had launched the old icon, not the new one?).
