Add scale and rotate to the sketch tool box

Add scale and rotate to the sketch tool box

I think Fusion needs a scale and much more important a rotate tool for the sketch engine tool box.

I really miss it and do not want to draw and build reference geometry with constraints to simply rotate a line

precisely.

Thanks for the suggestion.  We agree.  I've added scetch rotate (FUS-13865) and sketch scale (FUS-13866) tasks to our backlog.

Thank you!

So I'm not crazy? Im creating an eyeball for animatronics. I created an upper lid. I have copied that sketch and want to rotate it -180 degrees to create the lower lid. There is no way to do that right now?

Oh - found this workaround:

Extrude the sketch (you can delete later if not really wanted).
Ctrl C the feature in the browser.
Go to new part. (or stay in same part if that is what was intended)
Ctrl V
You will be prompted for rotation.
Follow the prompts and delete the feature after placing leaving the rotated sketch (if that was all you were after).

Well not quite. When I go to add a line to the sketch of the copy and pasted then rotated sketch - a prompt comes up that says, "Some components have been moved." Both Continue and Revert and Continue erase everything done (the copy and pasting of original component - then the rotation of that) reverting back to the original sketch. Is there a workaround to that?

great - I can move a spline in 3D space.

however I cannot rotate or scale a curve

I cannot scale two spline fit points to each other

I cannot scale two spline handle points to each other

I can only move.

this radically limits my ability to use 3D sketch in a way I am used to in any other surfacing tool.

in the image below I would have to move all spline points evenly to each other to change the shape

so it looks scalled evenly. This adds a lot of extra work

Voted.

Normally to get around this you need to extrude, scale/rotate then project sketch to achieve the same result. It works but is a bit of a hack. I imagine this is what we all have to do at the moment.

The ability to rotate & scale sketch entities is definately our radar.  These are captured internally as:

Sketch Rotate: FUS-13865

Sketch scale: FUS-13866

Thanks,

Charles

Why do not add also a pattern command that works on a set of profile entites?

So what is the status of this Haughec?

You posted on ‎07-31-2014 that the team will look into this.

Indeed needed feature...

Fusion sketch seriously needs a scale tool for sketches.

This specifically is important because the SVG import does not give you a preview and secondly the bounding box is not

framing just the content.

You can actually scale a sketch, as I've recently be educated by @Anonymous.

It is in a rather unexpected place and does not lend itself to the most conveninet workflow, but it can be done.

In the "Modify" menu slelect "scale". In the pop up window "entities' is pre-selected . Pick the sketch you want to scale as the entity and then the reference point for the scaling. this will allow you to scale a sketch with the sketch entities being visible so it provides visual feedback.

Good one Trippy. I wish I knew that yesterday!

It scales everything in the sketch uniformly though. The non-uniform scalability is not there. Interesting that it doesn't affect the bodies that are parametrically connected to it.

@TrippyLighting

I am actually talking about scaling inside the sketch and not the complete sketch.

it would be really helpful to be able to scale sketch objects with a direct command inside list next to the trim/extend and break commands.  Or even better, build the scale tool into the move command dialog box.
