4th Axis Tool Paths support

4th Axis Tool Paths support

Hello

I moved from another well known CAM vendor (awful) so very happy with you guys.

I do miss being able to create 4th axis toolpaths via the CAM.

RIght now doing them manually.

Please can we get this on the radar for inclusion at some point for the milling cam toolpaths.

Awesome product, awesome subscription model.

Lets keep this going.

Thanks

Laurence Oberman

I haven't looked at the product roadmap recently but I'm pretty sure 4/5 axis simultaneous machining is on there for some time in the next 6 months or so.

We break 4 Axis into two catigories:

  1. True 4X arround or allong an Axis
  2. Axis Sustition of 2 Axis toolpath (2D contour, 2D pocket, 2D Adaptive)

We working on both and should have a solution in less than a year.  Most likely more then 6 months out though.

I hope this helps.

4 and 5 Axis is something I really need. Using another software to do it sucks... aka Desk Proto

Hello

Kudos to all that made this possible.

Since moving to Fusion360, have never looked back.

We have 4-axis now :)!!

We added wrap options to 2D Pocket, Contour and Adaptive with the previous Fusion update.

But according to the documentation you can only wrap a toolpath if your model contains any cylindrical face to select.

This does not hold true for many parts (think organic shapes) including all meshes (they have nothing that can be selected).

"Wrap Toolpath functionality can be found on the Geometry Tab in the 2D Adaptive, 2D Pocket and 2D Contour Toolpaths. It's recommended that you select this option before you try to select your geometry. Fusion will change your geometry selection capabilities if it knows you're planning to create a 4th axis wrapped toolpath."

When will Fusion 360 be able to do continuous 4th axis tool path?

Thanks
