Can you bend a rectangular tube?

I am designing a chassis frame rail and it needs to have a bend in it. I tried the pipe command and it doesn't offer a rectangular option, just round and square. I have built a model of the tubing (2x4 steel) but wondering if it can be bent in the drawing to be able to have mandrel bent for production.

Hi,

maybe Sweep helps?

rectangular profile.gif

1. create a path (3-D-sketch)

2. create a plane on path

3. sketch the tube profile

4. sweep the profile along the  path

If you have to bend the actual rectangular tube take a look at this Blog article and video.  Model is attached.

I will give this a try as well, I think this will be preferred for the project I am designing if I can get it to work out.
